Crime Prevention Ottawa

Crime Prevention Ottawa is an initiative that contributes to crime reduction and enhanced community safety in Ottawa through collaborative evidence-based crime prevention. By developing a community-wide strategic crime prevention action plan, the initiative will bring a unique crime prevention perspective to many different aspects of City life. Crime Prevention Ottawa will support initiatives and partner with the community to deliver programming that has demonstrated success.

Crime prevention can be defined as initiatives or policies that reduce crime, violence and the fear of crime in the community. This can include a wide range of measures from support to keep youth in school to proper lighting in public spaces to community partnerships with the Police. Implementing such initiatives will help Ottawa residents feel safe on their streets, in their homes, at school, at work and at play.
