How can we help?

The 2005 Social Priority Areas report contributes to the commitment of the Community and Protective Services (CPS) Department in providing decision-support data and performance information to City Council, CPS management, staff, community partners and agencies, and residents of the City of Ottawa.

This report contains over 140 maps and data tables on:

  • Population groups
  • Families
  • Children
  • Official language preferences
  • Incidence of low-income
  • Average income
  • Economic dependency
  • Sources income

The purpose of this report will be to facilitate community need assessment and the prioritization of city programs/ service delivery by community or ward. As a decision support reference tool, it will also support the identification of community issues to facilitate advocacy for a wide variety of city services/programs, strategic planning and capital budgeting initiatives.
