Light Rail Transit Corridor Community Design Plan (Bayview Yard to Carling Avenue)

The Community Planning and Design Division of the Planning and Growth Management Department has launched the Light Rail Transit Corridor (Bayview Yard to Carling Avenue) Community Design Plan study.

The study area of this CDP is bounded by the Ottawa River on the north, and Prince of Wales Drive on the south. The east and west boundaries are streets and property boundaries that roughly follow the two 600 meter lines parallel to the LRT right-of-way (see proposed study area boundary map). It is located in Somerset Ward 14 and Kitchissippi Ward 15.

This study will examine the existing social, economic, and environmental conditions of the study area, identify land use, urban design, transportation, and infrastructure issues, explore opportunities for redevelopment and intensification, create a vision that complies with the Official Plan policies, reflects the transit-oriented development (TOD) principles, and respects the existing urban fabric, and develop strategies and policies for implementation. Public consultation will occur throughout the study.

Study information provided here will include:

  • background materials about the study
  • up-to-date information about the study work plan, schedule and public consultation events
  • planning and design concepts and options as the study progresses
  • Your participation and feedback are extremely important and valuable to us. Please take the opportunity to express your opinion on the development of the area and the study.
