RAIN, SNOW AND RUNOFF IN THE CITY

The City of Ottawa is committed to doing a better job at managing stormwater.

We are drawing up a “made-in-Ottawa” Stormwater Management Strategy in three stages that will guide how the City manages stormwater:

Stage 1: How do we manage stormwater now?
             (Existing Conditions) COMPLETED

Stage 2: How can we do a better job?
             (Policies & Planning Guidelines)

Stage 3: How do we change to do a better job?
             (Implementation Plan)

Stage 2 is now underway. We are reviewing other City plans, consulting with staff, agencies and residents, and drafting policies that will guide the management of stormwater in a socially, financially and environmentally responsible way.

You are invited to any of four Open Houses to see where we are in the process and to give your point of view on the draft directions being suggested so far (Goal, Objectives and Stormwater Management Policies).
