Western Light Rail Transit Corridor Planning and Environmental Assessment
The City’s 2008 Transportation Master Plan (TMP) identified the need for two Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines west of the downtown:
- A rapid transit (LRT) line between Bayview and Baseline stations running along the Ottawa River Parkway (ORP) implemented in Phase 1
- An at-grade east-west LRT route along Carling Avenue connecting the O-Train/ Carling and Lincoln Fields stations implemented in Phase 2
This study has the following two main objectives:
- To re-assess the alignments identified in the 2008 TMP and identify the best corridor or corridors for the LRT line
- Complete the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the selected corridor.
Open houses and other consultation opportunities will be offered throughout the duration of the study. Check this Website ottawa.ca/westernLRT for up-to-date information and upcoming events. Sign-up for E-news. You can also reach us directly by E-mail at westernLRT@ottawa.
