Nicholas Mann Gateway Precinct Design Plan![]()
On February 23, 2007, City Council approved a report prepared by Councillor Georges Bédard, which supported the City’s participation in this unique project. The Design Plan will develop a strategy to transform this underutilized area into a functioning and attractive precinct of the City. A Stakeholders Group, chaired by Councillor Bédard, leads the project. The National Capital Commission, the University of Ottawa and the Mobin Foundation are also involved as property owners in the area. The Stakeholders Group are pursuing a collaborative community planning process to achieve a high level of public participation in the preparation of the Design Plan. Action Sandy Hill (ASH) has been successful in obtaining funds from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation to assist in defining and articulating the principles and vision regarding the eventual development of the subject lands. ![]() Stakeholder’s Group MembersCity of OttawaCouncillor Georges Bédard – Chairperson Action Sandy HillRobert Stehle – President – Action Sandy Hill University of OttawaClaudio Brun Del Re - Director Mobin Foundation (Iranian Cultural Society)Dr. Akbar Manoussi National Capital CommissionSandra Candow - Principal Planner Ottawa Community Housing CorporationLaurene Wagner – Director How to get involvedThere are a number of planned community events.
